Basic Requirements For Becoming A Licensed Foster Parent

1. Desire, willingness and ability to provide care and supervision for children
who are the victims of abuse, neglect, or abandonment.

2. Willingness to work with natural parents and Department of Social Services
on the goal of returning children to their parents after the parents have
satisfactorily completed rehabilitative services.

3. Attend orientation classes (12 hours required).

4. Completion of Foster Home Application Packet.

5. Fingerprinting of all adults (18 and over) in the home. If anyone in the home
has been involved in serious criminal activity, the application will probably be
denied.

6. Health screening report and tuberculosis skin test completed on all applicants
by their doctor.

7. Family income and budget information so that Proteus Inc. can be assured that
the family can provide for their own needs and will not be forced to live off
the foster child's reimbursement check.

8. Completion of First Aid Training and CPR training which are two separate
courses.
