SUMMARY: Provides services in the areas of outreach, assessment, vocational exploration,
case management, counseling, development of customer's individual employment plans, job
search assistance and follow-up services; assists in preparation of administrative assignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
1. Initiates and maintains personal contact with customers and employers who express
interest in the on-the-job training program opportunities.
2. Provides job search assistance to program participants and develops job opportunities
with local businesses.
3. Conducts all 30, 60, and 90-day employment follow-ups.
4. Creates and provides input into Objective Assessment as it applies to job availability and
requirements.
5. Participates in individual case management staffing as needed.
6. Provides counseling to participants, such as such as job counseling, career counseling
and motivational counseling.
7. Provides case management services to participants.
8. Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or six years’ directly
related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other
software programs, as required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals,
professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and
respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent
and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete
variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of
instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, California driver’s
license, and minimum auto insurance as required by law.

SUMMARY: In a support role, provides services in the areas of outreach, recruitment, assessment,
counseling, and preparation of Individual Employment Plans (IEP), follow-up services, and implements and
manages a particular project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Provides outreach, recruitment, and establishes linkages with community agencies to build
awareness of Proteus programs.
2. Completes customers’ intake applications for services, determines eligibility, and administers tests
accordingly.
3. Enters customers’ information, such as eligibility, testing, assessment, and case notes into
appropriate data entry systems.
4. Assists in the preparation and completion of the Individual Employment Plans (IEP).
5. Provides participant counseling and post placement follow-ups.
6. Maintains contact with education/training site personnel to ensure accurate and prompt paperwork.
7. Works closely with job development staff and other professionals to ensure customer program
success.
8. Coordinates training reimbursement activity with training and employment staff.
9. Completes records, forms and reports required for fiscal and reporting or planning purposes.
10. Maintains communication with office/division staff to ensure staff is fully informed of
project/component requirements and opportunities and coordinates project or component with other
programs.
11. Other duties may be assigned.

standardized situations.
