Proteus, Inc. Approved to Provide FREE Energy-Saving Services to Past Customers

Visalia, CA - Customers that have received Energy Saving Assistance (ESA) services may be eligible for these services once again. Under a new-approved proposal, effective February 1, previous customers are able to re-participate in Southern California Edison (SCE) and Southern California Gas (SCG) ESA programs.

Energy Saving Assistance services range from energy-efficient refrigerators, weather-stripping, door replacement, water efficiency, glass repair, and heating & cooling efficiency measures such as wall heaters, furnaces, evaporative coolers and window/wall air conditioner replacement. All services are provided free to home owners and renters of single family homes, apartments, or mobile homes that meet program eligibility requirements.

Previous program guidelines required Edison customers to wait a minimum of 10 years to participate in the program again, while The Gas Company customers’ homes were only eligible to receive services for the home once in the home’s lifetime, regardless if there was a change in homeownership or tenancy.

“This will mean that a lot of families will be able to conserve energy and reduce the monthly bill even more,” Proteus Inc.’s, Energy Division Community Relations Liaison, Hector R. Uriarte Jr. shares. “And for a lot of families, they will get to do this again.”

Proteus Inc.’s Energy Division, a subcontractor for local utilities, has been providing energy-saving services for over 30 years.     The Proteus Energy Division also offers the Community Service & Development (CSD) Toilet Retro-fit program that allows eligible customers to receive up to two water-efficient replacement toilets.

“I really appreciate these services right now that I’m able to get because our fridge is about to go out,” Edison customer Randy Leyra states. “The way things are going, we probably wouldn’t be able to buy one on our own and we’d be stuck with an old one. I’m very appreciative.”

If you would like more information on how you can save money and receive FREE energy-saving services, please contact the Proteus, Inc. Energy Division at (888) 255-2142.
