SUMMARY: To ensure efficient operation of division and assist Director of Energy Programs with program planning, implementation and administration of weatherization programs, energy related programs, and other private ventures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Supervises Energy Programs staff towards satisfactory performance of program goals.
- Reviews and analyzes contracts, management information systems and other sources of information to monitor budgets, expenditures, performance measures, and inventory control.
- Gathers, organizes, and presents information from a variety of sources to the Director of Energy Programs for the development of divisional policy related to energy programs and other private work.
- Maintains an awareness of corporate policy, contract and regulatory requirements related to energy and other private ventures, to ensure divisional compliance.
- Implements trainings when mandated by funding source.
- Participates in program planning, contract negotiation, budget revision and modification with divisional, administrative or funding sources staff as necessary.
- Acts as liaison with administrative staff on various issues including training, personnel reports, and expenditures.
- Acts as public relations liaison with governmental agencies, utilities, funding sources, and community groups; and may service as corporate representative on committee or boards as directed by Director of Energy Programs.
- Reviews and submits staff records, considers requests and reports in absence or by direction of the Director of Energy Programs.
- Ensures that all safety measures are implemented and followed on a regular basis, including training, PPE, Heat Illness Prevention, documentation, and other safety policies and procedures, according to Proteus policies, procedures, and Cal-OSHA regulations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages 3 to 4 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 20 to 30 employees in the special programs units of branch offices. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of at least one of these units. Also may directly supervisor 1 to 2 non-supervisory employees.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor degree in related field and 6 years of directly related experience; or 10 years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, California driver’s license, and minimum auto insurance as required by law. Must maintain a good driving record.
