SUMMARY: To implement an educational program for children in the child care program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Implements the instructional program, including lesson plans, and child care and/or infant-toddler activities.
  2. Directs activities of the aides assigned to assist with children’s groups and/or infant-toddlers.
  3. Identifies possible language, health or other deficiencies of the children and refers for further diagnosis and remediation.
  4. Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops relevant to professional upgrading of instructional competencies.
  5. Participates in developing and selecting appropriate materials to be used in the classroom.
  6. Participates in developing instructional programs based on individual instruction and effective use of assigned aides.
  7. Implements a uniform sequence of activities according to pre-specified objectives.
  8. Provides leadership to teacher aides in the classroom.
  9. Participates in planning and implementation of parent meetings and parent education.
  10. Ensures that safety rules are implemented and followed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 24 units early childhood education or child development, including core courses, plus 16 general education units. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Abilty to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, or organizations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations when only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.

SUMMARY: In a support role, provides services in the areas of outreach, recruitment, assessment, counseling, and preparation of Individual Employment Plans (IEP), follow-up services, and implements and manages a particular project.

1.         Provides outreach, recruitment, and establishes linkages with community agencies to build awareness of Proteus programs.

2.         Completes customers’ intake applications for services, determines eligibility, and administers tests accordingly.

3.         Enters customers’ information, such as eligibility, testing, assessment, and case notes into appropriate data entry systems.

4.         Assists in the preparation and completion of the Individual Employment Plans (IEP).

5.         Provides participant counseling and post placement follow-ups.

6.         Maintains contact with education/training site personnel to ensure accurate and prompt paperwork.

7.         Works closely with job development staff and other professionals to ensure customer program success.

8.         Coordinates training reimbursement activity with training and employment staff.

9.       Completes records, forms and reports required for fiscal and reporting or planning purposes.

10.       Maintains communication with office/division staff to ensure staff is fully informed of project/component requirements and opportunities and coordinates project or component with other programs.

Weatherization Specialist (Installer)- Adelanto

SUMMARY: Serve as general consultant and liaison for the Weatherization Program and any other energy savings program products or measures. Services to include the delivery and installation for qualified customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Makes appointments with customers for the installations of weatherization measures.
  2. Installs or repairs windows, exterior doors, and entrance door modifications.
  3. Installs and repairs any damaged glass or window units on the job sites, as needed.
  4. Installs and repairs water heaters, furnaces, and other weatherization measures.
  5. Installs any material according to program standards and ensures that the work will pass program and Southern California Gas inspection.
  6. Ensures client satisfaction by exhibiting consideration, courtesy, professionalism, and promptness in carrying out all duties of the program.
  7. Keeps accurate records of inventory and installments.
  8. Travels to meetings, trainings, and program update meetings/conferences, as needed.
  9. Loads and unloads products from trucks, as needed.
  10. Keeps trucks and Energy Program’s portion of the Distribution Center clean and free from debris.
  11. Follows all safety rules and procedures pertaining to job duties and responsibilities.
  12. Immediately reports to supervisor any unsafe conditions or problem areas.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
