SUMMARY: Establishes and implements educational, cultural, and recreational activities in coordination with various community organizations that provide assistance to our program participants and family/youth, as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develops and      maintains linkages with other organizations working with potential      participants and families/youth, as appropriate.
  2. Assesses      customer’s and family barriers toward community assimilation.
  3. Refers customers      to appropriate resources.
  4. Recruits      potential customers through personal contacts and presentations.
  5. Assists with      coordinating and implementing community workshops such as budgeting,      parenting, alcohol and drugs, etc.
  6. Performs      customer follow-ups and counseling through home visits.
  7. Prepares      periodic and monthly reports as required.
  8. Performs outreach,      recruitment, and collaborates with community organizations to assure      success of project.
  9. Tracks, records,      and reports youth, family, and community improvements/empowerment as a      result of project.
  10. Assists in the development and coordination of field trip and a variety of educational and recreational activities (i.e., boxing, arts and crafts, computer tutorial program, volleyball, baseball, etc.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent; and certificate of completion from a college or technical school; or six months of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Moderate computer skills required for data entry, Word, Excel, and other software programs, as required for the position.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees or organizations. Must be personable and be able to effectively communicate with others from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Access to transportation, California Driver’s License, and minimum auto insurance as required by law. Maintain a good driving record.

  7. Tracks food,      refrigerator, and freezer temperatures.
  8. Completes monthly      reports and files in binder.

SUMMARY: Serve as general consultant and liaison for the Weatherization Program and any other energy-saving program products or measures. Services to include the delivery and installation for qualified customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Troubleshoots, repairs, and      replaces heating source and water heaters in residential homes. (Dual pack      units, wall furnace, direct vent furnace, and FAU.)
  2. Operates a variety of equipment      such as hand tools and diagnostic instruments (monoxers and duct blaster).
  3. Provides a materials list and an      accurate estimate in order to complete jobs.
  4. Prioritizes and manages different      tasks to be completed.
  5. Follows all safety regulations.
  6. Ensures quality and compliance of      all installations and repairs to utility standards and city building      codes.
  7. Follows and implements verbal and      written directions.
  8. Cleans and fine tunes furnace and      FAUs.
  9. Documents and reports work      performed to ensure accurate billing.
  10. Loads and unloads materials from      trucks as needed.
  11. Ensures client satisfaction by      exhibiting consideration, courtesy, professionalism and promptness in      carrying out all duties of the program.
  12. Travels to meetings, trainings, and      program update meetings/conferences, as needed.
