Christmas Comes Early For Proteus, Inc.:  Wells Fargo Donates $15,000!
 
VISALIA, CA- Proteus, Inc. announced today that it has received a $15,000 donation from Wells Fargo to implement a one-year, two-tier innovative Workforce Investment and Development Educational program. 
“Wells Fargo understands the importance of workforce development,” said David Galasso, Regional President for Northern and Central California. “These providers help to strengthen community economic efforts, and our hope is to support these organizations in this tough economic climate by helping to provide further outreach to rural small businesses and the community.”
Program services will be offered to low-income residents of East and West Side Fresno County.  The goal of the program is to give participants the opportunity to become self-sufficient and, at the same time, aid regional economic development by providing a well-prepared labor pool to local employers. 
Program components include:
 

• Job-Readiness Workshopsto assist participants with soft-skills and employment techniques.
• Vocational Education Training such as truck driving, solar installation and weatherization to prepare participates for emerging or high-demand occupations.

The $15,000 check was presented to Proteus, Inc. by Geri Yang, Wells Fargo Community Development Officer, during the Proteus Annual Holiday Event held in Visalia on December 8.
“Proteus is very appreciative of the donation and continued support from Wells Fargo.  It’s investments like this, in our local rural communities, that gives hope to struggling families,”states Mike McCann, Proteus, Inc. CEO.
